UAZ launches exports of two models of cars to Ecuador

SAMARA, Jun 20 (PRIME) -- Russian carmaker UAZ has launched exports of its UAZ Patriot and UAZ Pickup cars to Ecuador, the company said in a statement on Tuesday.

UAZ signed a distributor contract for exports of the first 150 cars to Ecuador in late 2016.

“Ecuador is not the largest Latin American market for UAZ, but we expect to export 300–500 cars to the country per year given support of our local partner. In total, we expect sales of UAZ SUVs in the Latin American markets to reach a total of 3,000–5,000 cars in the mid-term and to grow by 25–40% each year,” the company cited Andrei Dorofeyev, director for car exports in UAZ, as saying.

The company also said it previously signed distributor contracts with partners in Bolivia, Haiti, Nicaragua, Mexico, and Paraguay. It also plans to finalize agreements with new partners and to start exports to Venezuela, Colombia, Honduras, Panama, and Chile in several coming months.
